Dandy Baits would like to thank all of the men and women for their support with this year’s Annual Wounded Warrior Fall Bass Classic which was held at the Anna Point Marina on September 20th 2009. This event was to commemorate all the wounded soldiers for their service, and plenty of boats showed up to take out our Nations Heroes for some bass fishing on the beautiful Lake Anna, VA. Service Members from Ft. Mead, MD, Walter Reed, Army Hospital and MCB Quantico, VA all showed up to participate in this event. This event was bigger and better than before. We had new sponsors on board such as the National Turkey Wildlife Federation, PVA, DAV, LEEK, and of course Dandy Baits.
Every “Warrior” that showed up to the event received a tackle assortment provided by BustinBass.com and Bass Pro Shops, Ashland, VA., as well as other goodies from various sponsors. A new fishing rod was also provided along with shirts and hats. Over $30,000 in Sponsorship was raised for this one event and all donations were put into a fund with the PVA – Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund that will be helping provide administrative support for these events. PVA is a non- profit organization that has been helping veterans for some time now. These kinds of events have a direct impact on the quality of life for our “Warriors” and their families. So we would like thank everyone for your contributions.

The FLW Series visited the California Delta in Oakley, Calif., Sept. 23-26 for the National Guard Western Division circuit. Hosted by the City of Oakley, the tournament attracted more than 300 top bass anglers casting for top prize of $125,000 in the Pro Division and a top prize of $25,000 in the Co-angler Division.
Dandy Baits was excited to participate in this tournament and test out some of our new fishing baits like the JL Craw Jig, the Texas Knockout Jig, the Tennessee Twister Spinnerbait, and the Big Red Buzzbait. These fishing lures come in ¾ and 1 oz sizes and are available in all of our fish-catching colors.
Anglers took off from Russo’s Marina located at Bethel Island. All participants competed for the first three days of FLW Series events. Co-angler winners were determined on day three based on the heaviest accumulated three-day weight. The top 10 professionals continued the competition on day four, and the winner was determined by the heaviest accumulated weight from all four days.
In FLW Series competition, both professionals and non-pro Anglers were randomly paired each day, with pros supplying the boat, controlling boat movement and competing against other pros. Co-anglers fish from the back deck against other co-anglers. The total purse for the California Delta tournament was nearly $900,000, including $10,000 through 50th place in the Pro Division. Ultimately, all anglers in the tournament were competing for valuable points in the hope of qualifying for a shot at advancing to the 2010 Forrest Wood Cup, where the winning pro will earn as much as $1 million – fishing’s largest award. Unfortunately, Dandy Baits did not win the big prize, but we did place 29th, and had a lot of fun.
FLW Outdoors, named after Forrest L. Wood, the legendary founder of Ranger Boats, is the biggest fishing tournament organization in the world. FLW Outdoors has taken fishing mainstream with FLW Fantasy Fishing, offering the largest awards possible in the history of fantasy sports.
